1985 Mustang GT with only 99 Miles! This is a one of a kind car, bought new in FT. Madison Iowa at Jim Bair Ford. Believed to be one of the last 20 1985 GT mustangs off the line with a carburetor. This mustang was ordered and purchased by owner on 7/15/85 and then driven home to Ottumwa, Iowa and kept in climate controlled storage.

I had an '86 GT as my first car - first year with EFI. Virtually identical on the outside as the 85s. Same color interior too with adjustable thigh support on the seat bottoms.
i never understood these low mile cars that were not exotics. yes it is cool to see a low mileage car, but this should have at least 10k worth of burnout action.
Wow, what a nice car. You forget how simple and clean that design was.
I wonder what motivates an individual to take the huge depreciation hit on this, and not be able to enjoy it? Investment wise, the odds of making serious money on something like this are pretty steep, unless you live to be 100.

has it been started? i guess i should read the auction but that requires effort. i can't imagine it running well because with 99 miles it basically hasn't been driven in 25 years...the best you could hope for is that it was started every so often. still kinda cool though.

I was thinking the same thing. What about hoses? fluids? I would think that you would have to replace everything on a car this old no matter how many miles we on it just to be safe.

Add a battery and some fuel. For good measure, I'd change the oil too.
The 2010 Mustang interior is leaps and bounds ahead of those of the Camaro and Challenger.
And I would do horrible, horrible things for that '85. It's so perfect. I love the accents on the exterior, and I want that steering wheel in my car.
The camaro interior is not that bad, it's not as cohesive as the Mustang's but it adds a bit of funkiness to the camaro while being different and at some points useful, I really like how everything is setup.
The challenger is also not bad but everything is borrowed from other cars that it makes it a snooze fest inside nothing really that resembles or gives any clues to the original car.
I like that joke so much, I want to take it into the Health and Fitness forum and get it pregnant.

I've often said that most corporations should employ an eight year old child of average intelligence. Anything that the kid thinks is dumb, evil, or incomprehensible gets tossed out.
This is the new one and if you have been inside one you'll know that it's as comfortable as they come. Pretty strockable too.
Ahh, didn't know.....
I have sat in one, never driven one. But, the steering wheel was comfortable, but was about the size of a XL pizza. Why do they have to make it that big?!!?! Would prefer to see less hard plastic.
A new Camry/Accord would probably blow its doors off...
They'd probably blow the doors of a 1963 Corvette coupe, to......but if you'd bought one of those back in 1963 and tossed it into a climate controlled environment, I don't think you'd really care about what's 'tearin it up on the streets' today -vs- back then......

But that is a car I could understand putting away. You could get half a million for a 63 with under 100 miles on it. Probably over a million if it was a Z06 with the big tank.
This car though stumps me. Frankly I'm shocked its already at the price it is.

Never gets old.
I can see through mountains watch me disappear I can even touch the sky Swallowing colors of the sound I hear Am I just a crazy guy?
